Merry Christmas at Nara Park !

In the late afternoon of a gentle winter day, I happened to meet this scene.

A deer has just arrived at the edge of a pond to drink water. A father is taking pictures of his family, lying on his belly over a rock. People are talking and walking. Children are smiling. The pond quietly mirrors the peaceful scene. Over them, soaring up to the sky is a dawn redwood,  turning reddish-brown and watching people.  It looks like a natural Christmas tree.

When I encountered the tranquil and  soothing scene,  I could not help murmuring,
  " Merry Christmas !."

  1. Mt.Wakakusa with winter colour, the reddish-brown holly tree, the sky of blue and rose, and the pond which reflects the whole are very beautiful.
    Merry Christmas!

  2. This photo is picturesque! Seeing from the clear reflection, the day must have been a serene day with no wind or with a light gentle wind.

Sky is beautiful, but looks a bit unnatural to me. Did you use color adjustment on photoshop or windows photo gallery? Or, is that the special moment you captured?

  3. Your camera captures the critical moment.Nara park has countless expressions I did not know and you introduce them on this blog. I started being interested in Nara park rately thanks to you.
I like deers on the yellow leaves on the side bar.

  4. How peaceful、tranquil scenery this photo is!
The reflections of mountains and trees on the pond are clear.
The red and blue sky is calm. This photo of the country reminds me of a piece of painting produced by Linda nelson who is an American painter I love so much.

  8. to haricot,

    Thank you for your comment.

I am better at taking pictures than writing blogs. Sometimes one photo express my felling more than senntences.

  9. to stardust,

    Thank you for your comment.

If you focus a lens of a camera on the sky not on people or trees or things, the sky color will be deeper color, especially around sunset.
But, not always. I call it one time one meeting with light.

Does your camera have the special function to make clear color of blue, green, red, natural, vivid, white or brown?
    I use this function too.

  10. to sarah,

    Thank you for your comment.

Whether I meet the very moment of the scene or not is depend on my luck. If I am lucky enough, I'll be satisfied with my pictures.

Deer give the pictures softness and expression more.

  11. to redrose,

    Thank you for your comment.

I'm happy to hear that my photo reminded you of your favourite American painter. In the photo, people are doing different things but all of them look happy. The day is quiet and gentle. Almost the perfect combination,I thought. Then, I associated the tall tree with Christmas tree.

To live in Nara is to live with nostalgic feelings. I hope this kind of peaceful life which is in the photo will continue next year, year after next

But, I think photos are illusion which reflects what I feel.

  17. ruma
